DON’T TELL: Stories of Love and Madness in Brooklyn, NY

Intro

Through teaching and directing, I bridge the worlds of education and performance. Devising innovative experiences and executing them artistically, I enable adolescents and adults to craft narratives expressing their authentic selves.

Teacher

As an instructional designer and facilitator, I develop original curricula—from original performances of short stories to district-wide language arts programs—that empower students of all backgrounds and abilities to discover their unique voices and bring their creative visions to life.

Director

As a theater director and storyteller, I create unique multimedia productions like the one-person experience called Traces and The Eye That Saw Death, a performance featuring video projection, original sound and movement, exploring temporal and supernatural vision. I am currently directing DON’T TELL, a three part performance incorporating storytelling, film, movement and radio drama.

My Story:

I’ve held a variety of professional positions in New York City academic institutions, teaching English literature to adolescents and adults in addition to writing and providing curriculum in Washington DC public schools.

In addition, I’ve conceptualized and performanced several theatrical experiences, including an ongoing exploration of biopolarism now in its third iteration and an adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ short story, The Eye That Saw Death, that premiered at the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival in 2023. I have also provided narration for audible books and performed radio dramas for the National Edgar ALlen Poe Theatre on the Air on NPR.

I’m based in NYC but available to travel for longer consulting engagements.
